Is it true, that you don’t always have the trendiest items in your closet? Maybe it's because you don't want to spend a lot of money on clothes all the time? Or, maybe it's because you are not really into trends?! Either way, we all need to manage with what we have in our closets and make it work!

So you are probably wondering, how can you invent yourself every time with your less than trendy wardrobe?

This is what I asked myself when I came across the "Breakthrough Fashion Blogger of the Year" contest by Bloglovin’ which teamed up with H&M and Leandra Medine of Man Repeller. And so, I decided to challenge myself and enter the contest.

At first I was a little frustrated, as most of the H&M items in my closet, which were suitable for this season were old.

I was thinking, "how can I create a stylish and updated look with my old items?!" Obviously, I tried to look everywhere for cool and trendy pieces, but nothing suited to what I had in mind. I even went shopping especially for that purpose, but I couldn't find anything suitable. At that point, I knew that I had no time to order online, and, anyway I had already spent too much money this month on clothes, so I just couldn't afford spending any more. In short, I realized that I had to manage with what I had.

So, I decided to go with the style I usually wear, when I'm not trying to impress anybody and really be me! I decided to take the challenge and embrace it. I love to match elegant items with street style, so I can be elegant in a chic way. For the contest, I matched an old H&M dress (from 5 years ago!) with a patchwork denim jacket, which I had long forgotten about. Matching that dress with my vintage jacket gave me a new and updated look. As such, I kept my style authentic and created a stylish look with an old items.

My advice to you is to try to combine the vintage and less than trendy items in your closet and create your own chic style. Who knows, maybe you will find an old item in your closet, which is now the trendiest piece and once again in the headlines!

Last but not least, the most important thing you should remember is to embrace your own unique style, stay true to yourself, and don’t try to be someone you are not.
